About me

Najma Minhas has over two decades of experience at the intersection of geopolitics and economics, driven by a deep understanding of how global events shape financial markets. Her career in foreign exchange trading and sales, where she specialized in analyzing geopolitical and economic trends, has given her a unique perspective on the interconnectedness of world affairs.

Najma has had a passion for international relations and politics since she was a young student. This passion grew stronger during her time at Columbia University in New York, where she witnessed the world-changing events of 9/11 firsthand. The experience was formative, providing a powerful realization of how far-reaching global events can directly impact individuals, families, and communities. The immediate consequences of that day made her acutely aware of the geopolitical forces at play and set the course for her career, where she has sought to understand and analyze how world events shape economic and political realities.

Having traveled extensively to politically significant regions—including China, Russia, Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, as well as Europe, Canada, the USA, South Asia and Northern Africa—Najma has gained invaluable firsthand insight into the geopolitical dynamics of different regions. Her travels have further enriched her understanding of global politics and economics, allowing her to connect theory with reality in a deeply personal way.

With experience in global financial hubs like New York and London, Najma’s career spans economic advisory, policy consulting, and the financial sector. She is the Managing Editor and CEO of Global Village Space Publications Pvt. Ltd., where she also served as the editor of a successful magazine covering finance, economics, political, and international affairs. In this role, she led the editorial direction of content, focusing on how geopolitical developments impact global economics and political dynamics.

Najma has also attended prestigious international conferences, including those organized in Davos, Switzerland, the Salzburg Forum, and various World Bank events. These experiences have further deepened her understanding of global policy, economics, and the critical role of international dialogue in shaping future trends.

With significant experience in foreign exchange trading at institutions like Lehman Brothers and Standard Chartered Bank, Najma has provided strategic financial solutions to clients by interpreting geopolitical shifts. Her work involved collaborating closely with governments, sovereign wealth funds, and institutional investors to manage risk and seize opportunities in a volatile global market. She has been independent director on the Corporate Boards as well as former director on board of the Lahore Stock Exchange. She has been member of Track II Dialogues working on Afghanistan/Pakistan and India/Pakistan. She has published extensively in national and international publications on regional, gender, social and governance related issues.

In addition to her professional work, Najma shares her expertise through GVS Deep Dive, a vlog on YouTube that explores the intersection of geopolitics and economics.
